Compared to what's out there, this is the best.

Mr. Meylani has outdone all of those well known prep companies. I am a student who jumped Precalc, going to Calculus straight, so I truly needed to get my concepts straight. Mr. Meylani's book gives EVERYTHING along with a clear indication of what is IIC material or not. I took the test yesterday and feel very confident. This was a test I was rather nervous of, due to my lacking precalc experience, but no worries if you want something with ALL the answers, your search ends here. My only complaint is that there are few errors. However, this is no stigma almost, as there is no book that's close to as complete as this one. So, at least compared to what's out there, this is the best.

Book Seems Rather Hard

I took the AP US history exam last year and received 5. Now for the fall I plan on taking the SAT II, so I bought the book and took the diagnostic test and got more than half wrong, the questions seemed impertinent to american history and ambiguous. But the book does cover the topic in depth and the summary is helpful. Don't feel dejected when doing poorly on the tests.

Biology SAT II

The first two tests in the book are very helpful when it comes to preparing for the SAT II. They are the closest to the actual test (but slightly easier). The problem with the last three tests is the presence of bad questions, where the answer choices don't make any sense, or the book gives you the wrong answer in their answer chart. I would recommend buying this book just because the practice tests are close to the actual test.

A pretty difficult book, but well written

There are quite a number of great examples in this book. Many of these come from famous poets and writers. However, the author failed to give some of the diffiult ones an explanation. Thus, it seems very difficult to comprehend sometimes. The definition of words is pretty concise. However, if the author had put more effort into introducing this word to the readers, it would make learning a lot more easier. I also suggest that the next edition include a CD Rom because it is very fun to study via multimedia presentation. The exercises in the book are adaquant, but there seems to be a lack of explanation. Sometimes I do find it difficult to understand the answer. I have been n search of good vocabulary books for almost two years. I have not found one yet, but this is certainly one of the good ones that I have.

Lots of Fun Ideas

I mistakenly picked this up thinking it would show samples of cabinet knobs for my new house. Instead it takes utilitarian objects like steel pipes or locknuts to make unique home decorations.
Some look arty while others look just makeshift. Some are easy while others require some handyman skills. This really will get you to thinking outside the usual decorating, store bought stuff. I particularly liked the back-to-back fence caps turned into candleholders. The towel bar plus "S" hooks makes a great mug rack, while the upright can light teamed with a radiator grill makes a dramatic light stand for an end table.
Give it a try, for some unique projects.

Get Wise! Vocabulary

This book is great! I bought it for daughter, whom is a junior in high school, and she used it to help prep for the SAT. She said it really helped her, as she is very weak in verbal/vocabulary skills.

i haven't looked at the essay, but some of the information is so wrong (modern-nation of Czechloslovakia!?) and/or misleading, you'd be better off without it. For other classes (esp. Bio), CliffsAP is quite nice, especially for regular tests.

A Horrible and Disappointing Study Aid

This is one of the worst study guides I have ever purchased. I have used similar books published by Princeton Review and they all lacked the same thing: examples, review and extra practice questions. Do not solely rely on this book as a review or extra practice for the SAT II Math becuase it does not help. This book is more expensive and useless than all other study guids. If you want to save money and time, buy Barron's reviews and avoid the Princeton Reviews.
