Disappointing
Unfortunately, this book only has two practice tests. It is really tough to adequately prepare for this exam with so few problems. I recommend Barron's book instead. Read more...

Test 1 has "problems" in the math section!
To find one mistake in an SAT prep book is disappointing -- to find multiple errors in the first of ten tests is distressing. My prep class will be taking the second SAT test next week, and we hope we do not uncover as many errors next week as we did this week. Read more...

very good and interesting studying material
I bought this book to study for my SAT exams. I haven't taken them yet, but so far, I've managed to learn a ton new words. This book not only makes learning easy and fun (at least compared to the other SAT wordlists I've bought) they have tests and quizes at the end of every group of 10 words. It really helps you to memorize and retain the words. Overall, this is a very good book and it comes in a convenient size so you can study on the go. GET THIS BOOK ASAP!!<--especially if you plan to take the SAT's! Read more...

To Everyone Who's Ever Gone Blank While Taking A Test
"Dedication:
This book is dedicated TO EVERYONE WHO'S EVER GONE BLANK WHILE TAKING A TEST, or said "profane" when they meant "profound," or wished they'd studied Latin when they had the chance.
But most of all, it's dedicated to those of you who believe you just aren't smart enough to learn.
Because you certainly are."

Brief but suitable for international students
I am an international student who just arrived America two months ago but still need to take SAT tests. It is very hard for me at first because my vocabulary bank is not broad enough to deal with the critical reading section. I did poorly in the practice tests. However, after I had finished reading this book, everything changed. I knew a lot more vocabularies and I could understand the passages more clearly. Moreover, it was a good first step for me before I began studying more advanced vocabularies. However, the only problem for this book is that the vocabularies are not advanced enough. You can't deal with the vocabulary section and understand the whole passage by knowing only vocabularies from this book. Therefore, I suggest that you read this book quickly and then start reading other vocabulary book such as Word Smart. It will help you a lot.
I won't recommend international students to start at Word Smart because it's too hard if you don't know some advanced vocabularies. You will be intimidated. But for Native speakers, you can skip this book. Read more...

Good resource!
I bought this small book for my niece and took a look at it. It seems very easy to read, practical, down-to-earth and humorous. It has useful examples of the most difficult types of problems, for instance, in math. A welcome change from some of the other, more stuffy, voluminous and boring study guides. I think this book will hold her attention and help her as she prepares for the SAT. Read more...

Graphic SF Reader
There would be millions of young boys out there that would love to invite Calvin over when those oh so annoying parents inflicted one of those evil girl babysitters on them. There are quite a few other storylines involved in this book, but that strip is definitely worth of the title billing in the publication.

Way too many mistakes and just isn't worth it
I recently brought this book as a means to review for the math level 2 subject test. I usually use princeton review but decided to give kaplan a shot this time. However I was somewhat disappointed with the excess of mistakes in this book; (ex. x-3=0 ---> x=4). It's not horrible but it does get on my nerves, especially when there's a mistake or typo every few pages. Overall the book is decent, it gives you key facts you need to know and shows some examples but definitely doesn't go into enough depth for some topics. The explanations for the some of the examples are written poorly and the topic on matrix which I've heard could be on the test is left out. Read more...

Got the Job Done
My son had a great freshman biology teacher, but she knew she wouldn't get to all the topics the test might cover. She noted which ones these were for us in the table of contents, and we focussed our attention and time on those. We did work through the entire book anyway; it took from when we received it (March-ish) to the test date (June-ish.) Results: 740, plus a perfect 600 on the biology section of the state standardized tests (not directly helpful, but still perhaps listing on college apps later.) Read more...
