| Great Workbook!Buy it now!I purchased this workbook because i got a 500 in my writing section of the SAT. It has some typos here and there but they are only blemishes to anyone who can read.
Be warned: this is A LOT of work. If you don't have at least a month an a half in advance to prepare for the SAT, don't buy this book. You won't get through it. On the other hand, if you prepare well this gem will improve your scores dramatically. There are rewards for every minute of studying that you do with this book.
I was getting mid 500s in the writing section of the blue book SAT practice test; now, after going through this whole book, i am in the high 600s-I'm hoping to break the 700s threshold on the real SAT!
This book will benefit most those who have never studied grammar in depth. My education has been interrupted continuously and as a result my English has suffered. This book has TAUGHT me so many things.
and by the way... this is a GRAMMAR workbook; expect to be bored out of your brains. But as i have said, there are rewards for those who go through it.

| Handy preparationPretty good and straightforward review to prepare you for the SAT II Math. I started using this as a study guide a week before the test, and it helped very much. I'm currently taking Calculus, so Precal (most of Level 2 Math) and other subjects were forgotten. This book helped me remember and review many mathematical concepts, such as the arithmetic/geometric sequences, sum of sequences, and some handy equations.
If you're taking the Math SAT, it's assumed that you're almost or already done with precalculus classes. This book is meant as a REVIEW, to refresh your memories on concepts you have already learned.
There are some mistakes in the book, but overall, they're negligible.
I took Math Level 2 and the practice test questions in this book are very similar to the actual SAT test questions. The Math Level 1 practice tests problems are good for practice.
I definitely recommend this book. If you aren't a procrastinator like me (who started studying 1 week before), I also recommend the Baron's review too. That review book is a lot harder and detailed, but if you start studying a month before the actual test, Baron's the way to go. Read more...

| Not bad; errors from the earlier edition fixedA while back, for a previous edition of this book, I left a pretty scathing, one sentence review. As I prepare to try to get a perfect score on the exam, I realize that I am in need of practice exams (I exhausted everything else). I had about 10 tests left-over from my earlier ediiton of this book, but I decided that I ought to give the new edition a try. It's much better!
The tests themselves are very good when there aren't mistakes in the back of the book (explanation answers don't match listed answers, etc.), but these errors are sparsely distributed.
The math sections are sufficiently "tricky" and test reasoning abilities just as the real exam does. The content's about right, although as a previous reviewer mentioned, there are a few SAT Math Level 1 type questions in here so the content, if anything, is a little more advanced. But if you're out of CB tests, these are still really good.
The writing sections are pretty good, except for the fact that some questions are poorly worded/incorrect, but I'll excuse them because if you're making 12 tests, some errors are bound to happen.
The critical reading's a little weird. The passages are...about the same, although maybe written at a slightly lower level, but the questions sometimes have a hint of ambiguity that isn't there on the real exam or on the blue book tests. All in all, they're still pretty good, and it's good reading practice in general. The sentence completions, I've found, don't test as difficult vocabulary as the real thing, but the sentences are a little more difficult to decipher. Meh, it's okay though.
In any case, this is a good set of tests. No, it's not as good as CB material, but it's all I've left. It's not half bad. Read more...
