| A good prep book for Math 2cI used the 2006-2007 version of this book to prepare for the SAT 2 math level 2. It gave me a comprehensive review of all the topics on the test. I really liked how they provided a summary table at the end of each chapter that summarized what was important on each unit.
To give you some numbers, my practice test scores were between 750~770. On the real thing, I ended up getting a 790. It proves that kaplan practice tests are a tiny bit harder than the actual test. So if you are looking for a good sat 2 math level 2 prep book, kaplan is a good, reasonable choice.
Although I have never used it, I also recommend princeton review's book. My friend, who used that book, took the test with me on the same date and came out with an 800. Considering the fact that he struggled in his math classes while I did not, I would say princeton review is also an excellent choice.
I do not recommend Barrons and Meilani's 15 "realistic" practice tests. Although they both boast how "realistic" their tests are, I found the barrons book replete with garbage you will not need to know for the test and meilani's test questions too hard. Only use these books when you think you really know what's on Kaplan's or Princeton Review's book.
I also strongly recommend you to take the test "after" you finish pre-calculus. I was doing well in my pre-calc class last year and so I decided to take the test on may, when we had still a bit more material to cover. Although it is a terrific score for a sophomore, considering that most people take the test during their junior or senior year, I could have done better if I had learned all my pre-calculus materials. This proves that it is not enough to just know what is in the book. You actually need to engage with all sorts of problems in your pre-calc class. Read more...

| Quel malheur!I agree with the previous two reviewers. This book was a disappointment. I took the French SAT II with Listening, and I was not prepared. The blame cannot be placed entirely on the prep book, true, but this book has numerous flaws.
The sample listening exercises lure the reader into a false sense of security. There are very few speakers used, and, after a while, you become accustomed to their accents/voices. On the real test, I was caught off guard and found that I had to listen a lot harder.
The grammar reviews, too, are weak. Some very important and useful concepts are covered, yes, but a lot more could have been done. Additional grammar problems with immediate explanation to cement concepts would have been helpful. There are several spelling errors in the book; some are hard to catch, so beware.
Last, but certainly not least, I shall reiterate: the practice tests are much easier than the real thing. I wish I had practiced with something else instead of becoming confident in my ability to score well. (By the way, in this book there is a mistake in the instructions for calculating the score range: one bit says to multiply rather than to divide a number.) I'd suggest taking the practice tests in the book under very test-like conditions: low on sleep (you know it!), uncomfortable chair, no rewinding/stopping of CD.
I've heard that normally Barron's review books are pretty good, but I'm not so sure I'd put my trust into one after this experience. All complaints aside, this is the only SAT II French with Listening review book I could find, and it's better than nothing. Just don't trust it too much, and be sure to do plenty of outside preparation. Read more...

| The Best SAT Vocabulary Resource AvailableI have seen plenty of vocabulary materials for the SAT, but this set of cards is the overall leader of the pack. First of all, there are about 2700 words that are covered, which is quite comprehensive. The sheer number of words doesn't quite reach the 3500-word level of Barron's Basic Word List (in the Barron's SAT manual), but these cards are superior to the Basic List because they are organized by category of meaning, instead of the tedious alphabetical organization used in the Basic List (and the small font of the Basic List doesn't help either). I also appreciate having the word parts (roots, suffixes, and prefixes) on the special cards, plus the memory cues provided on the main cards. If you are aiming high on the SAT, I would recommend learning all of these cards, as well as the additional words covered in the Basic List. Then you will be in a very good position to know every single word on the SAT. Read more...

| Product DescriptionThis updated manual presents a diagnostic test and four full-length practice tests that reflect the latest information published by the College Board for inclusion in the actual SAT Subject Test in Chemistry. The book's practice tests reflect the actual test in length, in question types, content areas covered, and degree of difficulty. All practice tests are presented with answers and explanations, as are the 250 test-like questions at the end of each chapter. This total number of practice questions far exceeds all other SAT Chemistry test prep manuals on the market. Also unique in this book is the fact that all practice tests include a diagnostic of strengths and weaknesses by topic area and a suggested study guide directing students to appropriate brush-up chapters. The manual’s subject review covers all test topics, including structure of matter, states of matter, reaction types, stoichoimetry, equilibrium and reaction rates, thermochemistry, descriptive chemistry, and laboratory skills. Marginal notations of helpful hints direct student attention to important items. New with this version of the 9th edition is an optional CD-ROM that presents two additional practice tests in computer format with automatic scoring, answer explanations, and a diagnosis of strengths and weaknesses by subject area.
