| Bought this for the mystery tutor site, glad I did.I bought this book for my kid because it was recommended on mysterytutor.com, and I have to say I'm glad I did. The questions are different from what he was working on before, which was one of the Barron's books, just like the guy on the mystery tutor site said they would be. It just makes sense to use real questions to get ready for the test, especially when it's an important one.
Some other reviewers have written about how the book doesn't provide solutions, and I agree that that's a problem, but if you go to the mystery tutor's forums you can get all of those solutions for free, so that way you can still use this book of real questions and not have to go with some other company's fake questions, but still have explanations.
The book is full of real practice questions just like it says it is, and it's the only book of practice questions you should be using! Get it and don't think twice.

| So much Hype!I didn't like the pre-2008 edition of this book for many reasons. First, it is replete with with "pep talk," which is time-consuming to read and irrelevant to mastering crucial SAT skills. Second, it is thin on substance, which is why the author has to use extra-large fonts to fill up the pages. The few strategies provided, branded for the "2400 Club," are nothing you can't find in other great SAT books, like the McGraw Hill books. Finally, with the pre-2008 edition, the organization of the lay-out is so messy that it is actually hard to follow. Which is why I'm glad I'd sold the book and, thanks to the hype, at a good price!

| Critical SAT Exam Test Taking PointersThe author provides a good overview of the new SAT
exam which is geared toward critical thinking skills.
For instance, there is a new writing section which
requires the development of a lengthy essay which is
concise, creates interest and closes the presentation
so that the reader can draw valid inferences.
The vocabulary is challenging. The presentation contains
words ; such as, antithesis, assuage, blase' , callous,
maraud, postulate and viscous.
The mathematics problems stress careful thought and
contemplation. Some questions have thoughtful algebraic
manipulations. For instance, what is the probability of
having two men in a room of 3 people? The model
solution is 3/8 .
P( man/woman being selected) = 1/2
The intersection of 3 points is (1/2)(1/2)(1/2) or 1/8
1/2 - P( intersection of 1/8)= 3/8
The reading passages require candidates to read the
questions first. Then, go back and make a selection
based upon the most general answer or a careful research
of details in the paragraph. Overall, the preparation
is superior for candidates who will sit down with this
review text faithfully.
