| Handy preparationPretty good and straightforward review to prepare you for the SAT II Math. I started using this as a study guide a week before the test, and it helped very much. I'm currently taking Calculus, so Precal (most of Level 2 Math) and other subjects were forgotten. This book helped me remember and review many mathematical concepts, such as the arithmetic/geometric sequences, sum of sequences, and some handy equations.
If you're taking the Math SAT, it's assumed that you're almost or already done with precalculus classes. This book is meant as a REVIEW, to refresh your memories on concepts you have already learned.
There are some mistakes in the book, but overall, they're negligible.
I took Math Level 2 and the practice test questions in this book are very similar to the actual SAT test questions. The Math Level 1 practice tests problems are good for practice.
I definitely recommend this book. If you aren't a procrastinator like me (who started studying 1 week before), I also recommend the Baron's review too. That review book is a lot harder and detailed, but if you start studying a month before the actual test, Baron's the way to go. Read more...

| TOO DetailedMy recommendation:
If you're a math person, this is the book for you.
If you're not a math person, do not get this book (unless you have a ton of time on your hands; and as long as you don't get too down on yourself when you're receiving 100-150 lower on practice tests than you will on the real thing)
Going into the real exam, I figured I was going to get around a 650 because I had miserably failed all of Barron's tests. Luckily, I am not a nervous person going into exams, but if I was, I would have been VERY nervous about this test because Barron's terrified me. Not being a math guru, I did not understand some parts of this book initially. It certainly covered all the topics, but I think it went too detailed into some parts--distracting from the main points. I was very happy to get my 720. I am sure my relatively high score was due to my becoming accustomed to the difficult material in Barron's. Read more...

| WAY too much, and WAY too scatteredThis book did not help me at all! I read, more or less skimmed, the entire thing. HUGE mistake! I ended up reusing my AP World book to prepare for the SAT. The ideas in here are way to concentrated on the details, a lot more than even what other Barron's does, and the information will never be tested on the SAT.
So, I decided at first this book might be a reference book for the future, if I need to look up something really quick, but as I read through I realized the thing is a piece of junk. NO ORGANIZATION, FALSE GENERALIZATIONS, VERY POOR CHRONOLOGICAL ARRANGEMENT!
To make things worse, the tests in here are practically impossible (and it's not just me. I felt the actual thing is somewhere around 100 times easier), and there were mistakes to at least 5 or 6 questions. The explanations are short and useless, and because the book is so poorly organized it is difficult to search the correct information in the text!
If I could give one piece of advice to the authors, here it is:
Stop trying to show readers you can outcompete other review books on how much history you stuff here, and stop trying to show readers how creative you can get putting the history together. Give them what they want, and that's a book with a good SAT II review.
I am so disappointed with Barron's right around now. I am switching review books to Princeton.
